Besides sales training, Reachers can also guide you in the form of coaching sessions. This sales coaching can be artificial, in the form of fictional situations and role plays. This can be instructive, but at Reachers, we believe you can get much more from field coaching sessions.

What is field coaching?

Field coaching in sales is a form of sales coaching where the sales coach goes along to a sales meeting with a prospect or customer to provide 'in the field' coaching. Thus, it is no longer a fictitious situation, but a real sales conversation is held. Here, the sales coach will observe, evaluate and provide feedback on the salesperson's approach and sales techniques. The aim is to identify and address working points so that the salesperson can make better sales calls and further achieve sales targets.

Why is field coaching relevant to you?

Field coaching brings several advantages. Because the coach follows real conversations, and thus deals with a representative situation, working points can be identified in a targeted and accurate way. In addition, feedback can be given immediately, with the conversation still fresh in the mind. This means the feedback can be applied immediately and any problems can be solved immediately. Furthermore, the sales coach is usually a person who is outside the organisation, allowing a fresh look at sales calls. Finally, such a field coaching session can benefit your sales performance if feedback is properly addressed.

Reachers as your field coach

Whether you have attended a training course or want to brush up on your own sales methods, Reachers can provide you with field coaching. The coaching session is usually one-to-one, where we hone your individual sales skills. We start from a coaching plan that is fully customised to your needs. We then follow the sales conversation with the customer or prospect, after which we dissect and analyse your approach. After concluding the conversation, we provide feedback, with both the good points and the less good working points. This forms the input of the next session, in which the feedback will be applied.

In concrete terms, Reachers focuses on the following topics, among others:

  • Preparing for the sales call
  • The salesperson's attitude, enthusiasm and sense of purpose
  • Time management
  • The questions asked and the reasoning used in the sales conversation
  • Closing the call
  • ...

Even after the coaching programme, Reachers can continue to support you. For example, we offer further telephone follow-up with the aim of keeping the salesperson on their toes.
